The facelift incision starts in the hairline of the temporal area above the ear.It continues down infront of the ear down to the earlobe. For some individuals, the incision will also extend up behind the ear and possibly into the hairline behind the ear. For most of our patients we perform a MAC facelift in which the incision stops at the bottom of the ear and does not extend behind the ear. With this procedure bruising and discomfort is less as is the recovery time.
Neck liposuction is often needed with a facelift.
